The Complete Guide to
Sneaker Consignment

What consignment is, how our model works, what we accept, how you get paid — and how to squeeze the most out of every pair you send us.

What sneaker consignment actually is

Consignment is simple: you own the sneakers, we do the work. You ship us your pairs, and we authenticate them, photograph them, list them, sell them, and handle the buyer from checkout to delivery. When the sale clears, you keep the lion's share of the money — in our case, 85% of the final sale price.

Why would anyone do this instead of selling themselves? Because selling sneakers well is a job. Great listings take real photography, real buyer reach, and real trust — buyers pay more when they believe the pair is authentic and the seller will actually deliver. We bring all three: our platform reaches buyers far beyond your local market, every pair is authenticated in hand by our team, and we ship tracked worldwide from California.

You keep the ownership and the profit. We take the work and a flat commission. That's the whole deal.

The 85/15 split, no fine print

Our commission is 15% flat on the final sale price. No listing fees to get your pair online. No monthly charges. No hidden deductions at payout. If your pair sells for $200, you get $170.

We keep pricing this simple on purpose: a consignment shop only wins when its consignors win. If we made our money on fees instead of sales, we'd have no reason to sell your shoes well. The 15% only exists when the sale happens — so our incentive is to photograph better, list smarter, and move your pair at the best price the market will pay.

How consigning with us works, step by step

Step 1 — Submit. Fill out the intake form on our Consign With Us page with details about your pair. We review it and approve what fits our program.

Step 2 — Ship. Once approved, you send your sneakers to our California receiving address. You're covering the inbound shipping — pack them well, box included.

Step 3 — We authenticate. Every pair goes through our in-hand authentication process before it lists: box labels, SKU verification, materials, stitching, and yes, even the smell test. Fakes never make it on. You can read the full breakdown in our authentication guide.

Step 4 — We list and sell. We photograph your pair properly, write the listing, and put it in front of buyers worldwide. You don't touch a camera or answer a single buyer message — we handle all of it.

Step 5 — You get paid. After your pair sells and the sale clears, your payout goes out — 85% of the final price. Your full payout history lives in your portal.

Track every pair in your private portal

One of the oldest complaints about consignment is the black box: you hand over your grails and hear nothing for months. We built our consignor portal to kill that problem. Every consignor gets a private login with an 8-character access code, and inside you can watch each pair move through five stages:

You also get your full payout history in the same place. No emails asking "what's the status of my shoes" — just open the portal and see it.

What we accept

We take new and used-like-new sneakers. The condition bar is real: every pair has to pass in-hand authentication, and condition is part of that judgment. Send us pairs you'd be proud to buy yourself.

Keep the original box whenever you have it — pairs with the box consistently sell better and faster. And be honest on the intake form: if there's a scuff, a crease, or a replaced lace, tell us upfront. Surprises at authentication slow everything down.

What if a pair doesn't pass authentication? It doesn't list — it's that simple. We document exactly why it failed and return it to you at your expense. Authentication protects both sides: buyers trust the platform, and your genuine pairs sell for more because of it.

Tips to maximize your payout

Send the box. Original boxes, extra laces, and hangtags raise both the sale price and the sale speed. Collectors pay for completeness.

Clean before you ship. We photograph everything professionally, but a pair that arrives clean — soles wiped, laces straight, uppers fresh — photographs better and sells faster. Ten minutes of care on your end can mean real money.

Time the market. Hyped releases sell best in their first weeks and months; classics hold steady year-round. If you're sitting on a grail, don't let it sit forever — market heat cools.

Price signals matter. We price to move at the top of the realistic range, but pairs priced fairly sell faster, which means your money comes sooner. If you have a price floor in mind, tell us on the intake form.

Consign more than one pair. Buyers who find your pair often browse the rest of the shop. A small collection lists as a stronger story than a single pair, and it gives you more shots at a sale each week.

Ending a consignment

Consignment is never a lock-in with us. Either side can end it anytime with written notice — no exit fees, no awkward calls. If a pair hasn't sold and you want it back, we return unsold items to you at your expense within 14 days. The full terms live in our consignment agreement, and we recommend every consignor reads them before shipping.

That's the complete picture. You own the heat, we do the work, you keep 85%. If you've got sneakers sitting in boxes doing nothing, put them to work.
